Pineda to play All-Star game

The New Tribune reports that Michael Pineda, the 22-year old rookie starter from Seattle Mariners, will join other great baseball players for the All-Star game in Phoenix. He will replace Justin Verlander from the Detroit Tigers. The right-handed pitcher Pineda has struck out 113 batters in 113 innings for his Mariners. Both teammates Felix Hernandez and Brandon League will travel with him to the desert.

All-Star names from the American League includes Paul Konerko, Carlos Quentin, Derek Jeter and Jose Bautista. From the National Leauge we´ll see Matt Holliday, Carlos Beltran, Roy Halladay and Lance Berkman.

The game will take place live from Chase Field, Phoenix, AZ, tomorrow at 8:05 PM ET on Fox.
